This time we actually booked seats on the London bus, and got the front two up the top, with a table, phone chargers and a great view. We enjoyed that on our trip to Europe in 2016, but would scramble for the seats as they weren't pre-booked.
We arrived at Victoria Station just after two o'clock, topped up our Oyster cards and took the Tube to the Piccadilly Line. We emerged at the Caledonian Road exit and walked three blocks or so, dragging our bags to number 10 Hungerford Road in Camden. This was the first time on our trip we struggled a bit with luggage, even though our bags weren't huge. In 2016 we took only cabin baggage which was a lot easier.
Like many Air BnBs, this accommodation was used from time to time by the owner, so his belongings were there. Not too many though, and as he is an artist (Robin Lee), we had the pleasure of being surrounded by his paintings. He called by and saw us as there was a dodgy cupboard he needed to fix, and he was very friendly.
After settling in we walked down to the corner store for essentials (wine and crackers), did the washing and went to the nearby Draft House for tea. We were looking for traditional pub food but it is becoming harder and harder to find. We managed to get fish n chips and mushy peas (no peas for Neil), and enjoyed the warm weather.
The bed looked good but was incredibly hard, so I slept on the lounge.
