Day 4 Amsterdam

At 11.30 am we caught the tram into Centraal, where we met my sister Helen, who travelled from Brussels for the day.  I last saw her in 2016, which is way too long ago, especially as we have only know each other for ten years. I made a note to myself that it won't be any longer than two years from now on - and longer stays after retirement.
The first thing we did was go to a cafe for lunch and a beer, followed by a visit to Body Worlds, the exhibition of plastinated human bodies which travels the globe.  We were lucky to catch it there, although Kay wasn't too keen at first.  It is really celebrating the human body and how it works, with an emphasis on fitness.  Quite bizarre though.
Following that we had some more drinks, before Helen caught the train back to Brussels.  We would be catching up with her in a couple of days there, and would also meet Alex, my nephew, who was on leave from Afghanistan before going to Iraq with Doctors Without Borders.
After an hour canal boat cruise we went to the Ann Frank house exhibition, which for me was quite exciting as I had just finished telling my students the story back home.  I had to sneak the photos however, as it was not permitted.
We took the 26 tram back to IJburg after the tour, and had dinner and drinks at Dok 48.  In bed around midnight as usual.
