Day 16 London

We walked to Kentish Town, much quicker now that we know the way, to meet cousin Dan and partner Veronique at our family (a couple of centuries ago) pub called The Bull and Gate.  I had earlier written to them, asking if we could look around upstairs because of the novel I am writing which begins there, but the people on duty weren't aware.  However they let us look around anyway and I got more of an idea of how the Greenwoods lived.
When Dan arrived he brought with him an original painting by Colin Greenwood, our ancestor's son, which was amazing to see.  Colin wasn't my blood relative as I come from the illegitimate side of the family, but really interesting all the same.
Lunch was excellent, as usual, especially since Dan paid!  We definitely owe them, as I think he might have paid last time too.
After that we walked to Cumberland Crescent to see the Greenwood residence.  It was indeed exclusive and painted a different picture of the Greenwood lifestyle outside of the pub.
Whilst sitting at Regent's Park, opposite Cumberland Crescent, we got the terrible news from Neil's brother Graham that his adopted daughter Katy had taken her own life back in Australia.  She drove into a tree, which made it even more upsetting. No-one realised how bad her mental state was.
We walked home a little shell-shocked, and found an Asian restaurant in Holloway for tea.  Sleep was difficult after the news of the day, talking to family back home until late.
