Day 9 Delph

Neil had too many whiskeys with Grant the night before so was a little worse for wear, but after a couple of bacon butties he was ready to to Delph, our next port of call. Jennie and Grant kindly offered to drive us to save us the train/tram/bus arrangement which can be tedious, and also they hadn't been there before, so it was an adventure.
Delph is a village in Saddleworth, an hour or so out of Manchester.  We stayed there three years before and the Air BnB hosts have become our friends.  Neil went to two brass band practices whilst there in 2016 as their daughter plays and the band hall is almost next door to their house.
After dropping our bags off, the five of us (including Dan) had lunch at a local called The White Lion.  I had my first dose of mushy peas and also scampi (langoustine) which we don't get in Brisbane.
Around mid afternoon we said our farewells and Neil and I went to the supermarket to stock up for the next three days. We checked in with our hosts, Anne and Phil, ate a frozen pizza then went to bed at 8.30 pm.
